Where it all Began: the Story of Vitalenta
Vitalenta originated from Podere Casanova in one of Italy’s most iconic landscapes. In 1924, Marchesa Iris Origo and her husband purchased Villa La Foce and the surrounding estate with the intention of reviving a forgotten land. The farmers built the estate using local stones, expressing an ethical vision that we continue to uphold today.
Preserving Beauty from its Roots
Nestled in the Lucciola Bella nature reserve in the heart of Val d’Orcia, in a landscape now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Vitalenta represents our commitment to celebrating the beauty that lives in these hills, a heritage to preserve where every act of renewal respects its roots.
THE CYPRESS
ROAD
A Pinsent Design in Val d'Orcia
Vitalenta stands along the dirt path that winds like a ribbon through cultivated fields marked by cypress trees. The road, part of the Villa la Foce project, is not the only masterpiece by architect Pinsent, who was already a master at blending architecture and nature, as he did at Villa Medici in Fiesole. Pinsent wanted to pay homage to 15th-century Sienese painting. Here, young Origo discovered the harmony between man and landscape.
Vitalenta: the Story of a Destined Encounter
We have always loved Tuscany, dreaming of a place where we could bring our vision to life: an agriboutique that would preserve the landscape and the essence of time. One day, returning from visiting another property, beauty stopped us in our tracks: along the cypress road, among the trees, an ancient farmhouse had been waiting for us all along. Now Vitalenta has taken shape here, from the restoration of antique furniture giving new life to the past to the comfort of contemporary hospitality, every detail speaks of us.
